Banana Cake from Lembah Impian Country Homes

A Banana Cake supposedly the best and special from the kitchen of Lembah Impian Country Homes here at Jalan Putatan, Penampang, Sabah.  It's is not far from where I live but I have never been there.  Will plan a trip there soon, the resort looks impression from the brochure.

Back to this Banana cake.  It is sold at RM6.00 per loaf at their booth during their resort promotion at City Mall during the weekend.  The taste is somewhat different from what I made (of course home made is different right!), and it is a bit too sweet and less of the real banana taste.

Curry Laksa & Fish Meehoon soup

A bowl of seafood curry laksa from one of the famous coffee shop at Sinsuran, Kota Kinabalu.  I never bother to remember the name of the shop.  This shop is famous for its Tom Yam but both of us did not Tom Yam this time instead we tried this seafood curry laksa and meehoon soup from the other stall.

Marble sponge Cake

A marble sponge cake made from sponge cake premix. The marble effect is made by combining the original batter and 3 different food colourings in the other three portions of batter mixture. Pour in the coloured batter one by one into the baking pan and bake in the oven like usual.

3 food colourings are used, these are purple, green and orange. I made this marble sponge cake on Saturday. I tried mixing 3 food colourings and the original batter for fun just to see how it turns out. I did not follow any of my cake recipe for this cake, just try my instinct to add in what are the necessary ingredients and the usual method, surprisingly it is spongier and softer than I thought.

The only mistake I made was too much sugar added making the cake too sweet, because I didn't realise that the sponge cake mix is sugar added.

Fresh fruit juice

This is a glass of fruits and vegetable juice which I usually make for myself, hubby and my two girls. I like more green in my juices while my girls prefer pure apple juices. I mix some carrots juice in theirs too so that they can have the vitamins from the carrots too.

Kuching Laksa

A bowl of Kuching Laksa that I ordered from Maxim Restaurant, Bandaran Berjaya in Kota Kinabalu, as breakfast this morning. I have no complaint on the taste, the prawns are fresh and tender. This is the first time we patronize this restaurant, it is a very comfortable place to have meals there.

If I am not mistaken this restaurant is also managed by the hotel operator at the same building thus the set up are of certain standard, the toilets are very clean too.

We also ordered this kon lou mein with seafood, stuffed chillie and eggplant, there are many others to choose from. The food pricing are reasonably.

The only lacking is this restaurant is, it does not sell can drinks like soya milk and chrysanthemum tea. Will sure come back to try on other food from this restaurant again!
