Seafood at KK - The Fish Recipe restaurant

We bumped into The Fish Recipe restaurant at Tanjung Aru town last night.  We were supposed to have our dinner at a kopitiam a few steps away from The Fish Recipe Restaurant but the lighted up "The Fish Recipe" signage caught my eye right after I stepped out from the car (we parked just in front of the shop).  We took a look at the menus and decided to settle in to have our dinner without much reluctance. Being the fish eater lover me, I ordered the "Asam Pedas fresh fish and fish cakes mixed meehoon soup" minus the chili pedas. My better half ordered the "Bitter gourd fresh fish and fish cakes mixed meehoon soup".  
I like the texture of the meehoon (not sure which brand of meehoon they used).  The soup is a bit light and less salty than those I had from other shops, probably less artificial seasonings are added into the broth, I do not mind having healthier broth. The fresh fish slices are fresh, The mixed fish cakes and fish balls are soft and tender.  

We came to know later that they have got another branch at the Aeropod too which we have been there a few months ago and I have posted it here too.

We paid RM28.00 for 2 bowls of meehoon soup and a glass of gao gao (thick) teh tarik.

Cream corn steamed cake

This is my first attempt adding cream corn into the cupcake. It was not perfect but not disappointed too, the cream corn blended well and add sweetness into the cupcakes.

Traditional home made preserved calamansi / kasturi for prevention of co...

This recipe has been followed by generation to generation on how to make preserved calamansi / limau kasturi /桔子. I am sharing my experiences on taking this natural remedy whenever my family having cold, cough and sore throats. The preserved calamansi juices can be served warm or cold. My advise is when treating cold, cough and sore throat, it is better to serve warm.

Healthy 3 beans 1 Grain Honey Dates Longans Dessert Soup, Home Cooked Re...

Searching through my pantry and fridge, I found several items that I can mix to cook a healthy dessert meal. With the mix of 3 types of beans (red beans, green beans & barley), brown rice, dried longans, honey dates and molasses (as sweeteners). 

 The beans were soaked a hour earlier, I prepared this dessert soup after my dinner. After brought to boil all the ingredients in a pot for 1/2 hour, I transferred the dessert soup into a thermal cooker and left the soup there overnight.  It will be cooked by itself in the thermal cooker. 

 I had it for my breakfast and lunch the next day. This dessert soup can be kept in the fridge for 3 days. I will take the desire portion out from the pot to warm it up if I prefer it to be served warm or else this dessert soup can be served cold.

Steamed Okra garnish with Garlic Sauce

We had home grown Okra (lady's fingers) in the past month, 3 Okra plants in all, these plants produced okras that we are unable to catch up to pluck them.  The okras grow unbelievable fast.  Some have even grown too old for us to eat them.  In this recipe we are cooking the okra that we  harvested right outside our kitchen door.
